I am so excited to introduce myself as a nutrition coach for Designed to Fit Nutrition and be part of this amazing, growing community of people working on bettering their lives and their health. I am truly grateful for this opportunity to continue to find new ways and avenues to spread what I love and continue to learn and grow myself as a coach.
As a quick background, I have my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and found CrossFit while I was in college in 2011. After a few years of falling deeper and deeper in love with the sport, I decided to get my Level 1 certification, and began coaching a few months after that. Several certifications and years of training clients later, I became a part-owner at my gym – CrossFit Black Pearl– and have immersed myself in the lifestyle, culture, and my community. It has been so life changing and is one of those things I could never imagine my life without. Being a business owner is so challenging and rewarding and I’ve never learned more about myself or grown more through anything.
Along the journey I also started finding a deep interest and passion in performance nutrition. I have always been interested in health and nutrition – I tried vegetarianism for years and then a paleo approach for several years after that, but ultimately settled into a flexible dieting (counting macros!) approach around 2015 and saw such great results that I knew I wanted to start teaching others what I was figuring out for myself. I hired a coach in the beginning, and the help and accountability was invaluable. I really wanted to work towards becoming a coach myself to offer at my gym.
I began nutrition counseling in 2013 and since then have worked with so many great clients from my gym and beyond – helping them attain all kinds of goals through proper fueling and nutrition. Since then I have also studied for and obtained my Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification and am currently studying to become a certified Health and Wellness coach through Wellcoaches (ACSM). I am constantly researching, listening to podcasts, reading books, and absorbing as much about nutrition and how to be an effective coach as possible. Coaching others is the best job I could imagine.
Outside of coaching CrossFit, being an athlete myself, nutrition counseling, and working a full time job as a Health Coach (at a health plan company)… I have a deep passion for photography (and run a side business of wedding and portrait photography too!), and food photography- I used to write a recipe and nutrition blog for years during college and after where I developed a love for food styling and photography. I also recently have become obsessed with essential oils. I love podcasts and coffee shops. And I drink kombucha daily.
I am thrilled to be part of a strong team of women working for Designed to Fit Nutrition and feel so passionate and connected to the approach and spreading the knowledge and love for fueling our bodies in a fun, flexible way that gets real results.
