In September 2016, I had hit my highest weight and was at a low point in my life. I had just cancelled a fall vacation because I didn’t want to spend the money on a trip that I knew I wouldn’t truly enjoy due to my weight, fitness, and energy levels. I saw a shared post on Facebook about a contest DTFN was having for a free plan. I didn’t win, but decided to sign up for a plan as I was out of options and knew I needed to get to a healthier weight. I was not eating breakfast and eating take out most nights for dinner. I had no energy and working from home 4 days a week, so exercise was non-existent.

This is by far the best money I have ever spent on a nutrition plan. I refuse to call this plan a “diet” because it is not a diet. It is a true lifestyle change. My coach has taught me more about reviewing my options, making decisions for myself, and planning my day so that I stay within my macro range. I have learned how to substitute different foods to beat cravings and have a healthier alternative that is just as satisfying. I am a picky eater and have looked at some foods on my meal plan and thought “that will go in the trash after one bite,” but I tried almost every menu option I was given and everything was delicious and nothing ever went into the trash. I tried a lot of foods, I would never have tried on my own and for that I am thankful. There is a lot of good healthy food out there.

I lost 17.2lbs on my first 8-week plan and that was without exercise. I was so focused on eating right that I was not ready to venture out into the world of exercise. I then followed the meal plan for approximate 9 weeks on my own and continued to lose weight. I personally liked the structure of having the meal plans and getting new food ideas and recipes, so I signed up for a 2nd plan. This time, I slowly started incorporating exercise into my plan and am now more active then I have been in years. I still have a long way to go on my journey to health but since I signed up with DTFN, I have lost over 42lbs and I have my energy back. However, with the tools and support I received from my coach, I totally feel like I got this!
